make gold foil thank you tags with the foil quill freestyle pens

A girl can never have enough thank you notes, am I right? And if those thank you's are made with gold foil, even better! The Foil Quill Freestyle Pens are the easiest way to add custom foil designs to you projects, and it's a favorite of mine right now. With just a ruler, a cardstock tag, and the Freestyle Pens you can make the perfect thank you tags for a wedding, anniversary, or shower in no time.

To make this project come together quickly, I bought these gift tags at the craft store in the wedding aisle. You can make your own from plain cardstock and one of my favorite tools, the Tag Punch Board.

I recommend using a dark plain cardstock for the gold foil to show best. Rich jewel tones work well too. Once your tags are ready, it's time to add some foil with the Foil Quill Freestyle Pens! Start by heating up the Standard Tip and the Calligraphy Tip pens with a USB power source. My favorite way to do that is with the Foil Quill USB Modular Storage.

Let the pens heat for 10 minutes, and while you're waiting, trim your foil to fit the size of your tag. My favorite way to trim foil is with the Mini Rotary Cutter and the Mini Magnetic Mat.

Place the tag on the mat with the foil over the bottom half. Use the metal ruler to draw three straight horiztonal lines with the Calligraphy Tip Pen.

Then place some foil over the top half and write "thank you" with the Standard Tip Freestyle Pen.

And there you have it! It's that easy! These classy tags are great for weddings, showers, anniversaries or other celebrations. You can make a batch, store them, and use them when the need arises.

Your own handwriting IN GOLD adds the perfect finishing touch! I'm so loving this tool--I keep looking around for more things to foil. I'll catch you next time--happy crafting!
