The base of this garland is a We R Memory Keepers DIY Party Light Strand with silver glitter bulbs. I added some white paper flower and butterfly bulb covers, and then tied the honeycomb Easter eggs in between the bulbs.
It was easy to make the honeycomb Easter eggs using the small Honeycomb Pads and Honeycomb Templates. I simply used the template to trace a 4" egg shape onto the pads and then cut them out. Tip: be sure to use large, sturdy, sharp scissors for best results.
To add a bit of stability I adhered a piece of cardstock to each side of the honeycomb paper. Then I added two 12" lengths of white rafia along the glued edge before adhering the two pieces of cardstock together to form the egg shape. Be sure to use a strong adhesive to keep the egg shape secure.
To finish the garland off I tied the eggs to the light strand using the attached lengths of raffia. I love the mix of the soft pastel honeycomb eggs with the crisp white flowers and butterflies--perfect for Easter!
What do you think of honeycomb paper? What type of projects would you create with it?
