This Valentine's Day craft is super easy to make. Start with a 5x5 inch piece of paper. You can use construction paper, cardstock, or decorative scrapbook paper. I used papers from the We R Memory Keepers Crush collection.
Place the top edge of the paper into the "valley" side of the punch and punch your paper.
Cut off the bottom corners of the paper but trimming diagonally from the center mark of the bottom edge (2 1/2 inches) to the 3 inch mark on each side.
Now all you need to do is round the top two corners. You'll need to punch each one two times in the corner rounder side of the punch.
First, line up the corner of the paper along the corner guides and punch. Then rotate the paper clockwise and line up the diagonal edge along the left corner guide. Then punch again.
Tip: once you align your paper for the second punch in the corner rounder, pull it back out just a hair (about 1/8 inch) to get the best results. Repeat the last two steps on the other corner.
And there ya go! A perfectly symmetrical lovely heart!
Punch out the number of hearts you need for your garland, and then use the Link Punch to make slots in each heart and link strips to link them together.
What I love about using the link punch is I don't need to use adhesive, ribbon, or twine if I don't want to. Awesome, right? I decided to add some baker's twine at each end for hanging.
And I added a 3x4 journaling card to the center for a little extra visual interest.
I love how this turned out! It was super easy to make with my Alphabet Punch Board, and I love it when I can find multiple uses for my crafting tools.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous Valentine's Day!

I have the mini Alphabet punch board. What size paper do you recommend to start with for this Punch board? Thanks.
Hi Jann,
You'll make the width the same size as the height. So for the Mini Alphabet Punch Board you'd use a 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch paper since the paper height for that board is 2 1/2.
