april planner spread
Posted by
Aly Dosdall
Most of my memory keeping these days either happens in my planner, a traveler’s notebook, or a journal. I approach it much like I would a mini album. Last year in April during my daughter's senior year she and I took a trip to Boston and New York City, so I recorded some memories on the April spread in my planner.

wire wedding cake topper
Posted by

It’s either that time of year or there must be something in the water here, because we have gotten no less than five wedding invitations in the past month! Exciting, right? Needless to say, I’ve had weddings on the brain. Recently I saw some adorable wire wedding cake toppers, so I thought I’d try my hand at making my own with my Happy Jig to see what I could come up with.

I'm loving all the wire crafts I'm seeing around the interwebs! I'm so glad We R Memory Keepers has created the Happy Jig and Big Happy Jig to make wire crafts easy! I created some baby themed decor that would be perfect for a baby birthday party, a baby shower, or any other baby themed event. You could also change out the words to fit any celebration or event you’re hosting.

how to make a glitter tumbler with the spin it tumbler turner
Posted by
Aly Dosdall
Several months ago I was turned on to an amazing trend in the craft world--making custom tumblers! You know those insulated stainless steel cups and mugs that keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold? Crafters are adding patterned paper, fabric, photos, vinyl decals, and GLITTER to these to decorate them and customize them. They make great gifts (or keep them for yourself) and I'm so excited to dive into this part of the craft industry!

diy easter countdown
Posted by
Aly Dosdall
Easter is a really special holiday at our house. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we have a strong belief that Jesus was resurrected and overcame death for us, and we celebrate that amazing gift at Easter time. So, I try to make this holiday more like Christmas at our house. Not that we give tons of gifts, but we try to focus our thoughts and efforts on the Savior this time of year.
An Easter Countdown is one way we try to do that. We add special activities and scripture versus to the countdown, so in addition to getting treats and doing fun things we learn about the last week of Jesus' life and what that means for us. This Easter countdown craft is easy to make and can be used over and over again. Check out how I made it!

Hello! Yes, I'm still alive and I'm actually blogging! I had to pop in here to share a fun and easy DIY Traveler’s Notebook Cover with the amazing new Foil Quill pen and my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine. The Foil Quill is this year's hottest new tool, and it's my favorite toy to play with by far right now!
This summer our family is taking a long trip back east to visit some places where some of our ancestors lived to learn more about them. I’m so excited about this trip and I know it’s going to be so memorable, so I created this traveler’s notebook to record photos, stories and experiences along the way.

seventh day of christmas: holiday gift card holders
Posted by
Aly Dosdall
Hello friends! Happy Eighth Day of Christmas! I love giving gift cards for the holidays because they allow the receiver to pick out what they get, which often ends up being something they might not get for themselves otherwise. But, I worry that when I give them as a gift, it might seem like not much effort went into it. My solution? Make some pretty gift card packaging!

If you haven't worked with the Layered Stamps yet, you should give it a try! They're so much fun, and so easy to use. I'm not an expert stamper, but I really enjoyed creating with layered stamps. I love that I can customize the colors for my image so it coordinates perfectly with my project.
