As part of my design team work for We R Memory Keepers they sent me a Heat Wave Pen to create some projects and to share about it here with you, my awesome blog readers. While I received the products used in this post for free, all opinions and ideas are my own.
The metallic trend has definitely made a comeback, and the Heat Wave Pen is another great way to incorporate that trend on paper. I used it to create a custom tag to house my title for this scrapbook page.
The Heat Wave Pen works really beautifully with the templates that are sold separately, and that's what I used to make this tag.
You can also use it to draw freehand art or text, but I'm not very good at free handing anything so I'll be sticking to the templates. =)
I also found that results are better if you tape your foil down so that it doesn't move while you're writing over it with the pen. And, you don't really need to push very hard. In fact, if you push too hard you create ripples that cause skips in your writing.
You'll definitely want to practice on scrap paper first to get the feel of the tool, but once you get it down it looks amazing!
Watch for a YouTube video showing how to use the Heat Wave Pen to create this project soon. I'll link you up once it's live.
P.S. The papers and embellishments I used for this project are from another awesome new release--The Wildflower Collection. So gorgeous!
