how 'bout a give away!!

Each holiday season one of my favorite things to do is browse the web for all the adorable and creative advent countdowns out there.  I find everything from cookie sheets, to shoe organizers, to paper chains, and more.  One of the cutest ones I've seen out there is this take out box advent from Stampin Up.  It is so adorable, and comes in a pre-cut kit which makes everything so easy to put together.  What's even better is you can leave it just the way it comes in the kit, or if you feel like adding your own personal touch you can embellish to your heart's content.  I'm actually working on one right now, and since the folks at Stampin' Up are not only creative but oh so generous, I've got an extra kit to give away to one of you!

Leave a comment telling me what your advent countdown is like, or if you don't have one, tell me about a cute one you've seen before.  Or you could just tell me you want this one, LOL!  I'll randomly draw a winner on Monday afternoon.  Good luck!!

ETA: Comments for this post are now closed.  A winner will be announced this afternoon.  Thanks for entering!

I think Stampin' Up has the best quality stamps, they are super and their projects are always so darn cute. I adore looking through their holiday mini catalogs to see what ideas I could "lift"! I would just adore making these little boxes with my kids, Aly.

For the past three Christmas seasons (translation: from the time my son was born), we have used a fabric countdown calendar that belongs to my Mom. It includes 25 small pockets that are mainly intended to hold an attached plastic candy cane; that you move each day. Two years ago, we had some fun with my son by adding a small piece of chocolate to the calendar pockets so he'd have a little more fun participating in this part of the holiday preparation. Last year, my Mom decided to slip a little Matchbox-like car into the upcoming pocket. This year, I'm not sure what we'll place in the pockets, but I'd like to get to a point where we actually use it as a tool to teach him the spiritual and uplifting spirit of the holiday as well.

Those take out boxes are very cute! That would be fun for a location with a lot of people around.

Saw those boxes on the SU website yesterday and thought they were cute too! I made a felt tree last year that we decorate day by day http://creatingdaybyday.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-images.html

This year I am adding the idea that was on Ali Edwards site this past week with the action cards -- I used photos on one side, made ornaments and am in the process of putting family activities on the back -- think it will be fun.

I love the idea of the take out box advent calender! So cute...I want one!!!

ours is currently a Disney, Winnie the Pooh felt advent calendar from Disneyland. You decorate the tree with the felt ornaments that are in pockets at the bottom of the banner.
This one looks like fun, too! :) I hope I win!

LOVE this!!! We have an Advent tree that we picked up at Costco almost 8 yrs ago. The base has numbered boxes on it and you 'decorate' the tree one ornament at a time. No room in it for a little treat for the participants tho...

Would love this one, we haven't really had one yet and have been trying to figure out how to make one from scratch with three kids under five (youngest is 2 months)... everything takes five times longer than I think it should! :)

Me, me mememe! It is seriously so cute! Love the peppy Christmas tunes too.

Those boxes are cute! We use a tree made out of green fabric that hangs on the wall and has 24 red pockets on it. Each pocket has a different design and there's a fabric stuffed santa that the kids move from day to day.

my advent calendar is a snowman that we move the snowflake from day to day. I have wanted a new advent calendar that had containers large enough to hold more than a hersheys kiss. this one looks like it is perfect

We've got several advent calendars. One is a Santa hanging from a doorknkob, and you move a candy cane move from pocket to pocket. Another is a chalkboard countdown. The last is one I made from a Bazzill coin holder - it has magnets and as you take down the circles, there's a little message.
None of these actually have space for a little treat, so the one you show here is super-cute and my kids would love it!

That is a great advent countdown! I have a cardboard box that has 25 drawers, decorated with scrapbook paper but they are so small I can't fit a treat in for all three kids.

Ann Cicilie said...

Oh my, they're so cute!

Thanks for the chance to win, would be wonderful to fill them up with some goodies and hand them to my husband :)

Our family has used the same Advent Calendar for many years. It is a resin nativity scene with numbered stars that hang on little nails above the manger, with the 25th star being much bigger and bolder.
The kids love taking turns each day putting up the stars.

I've never done an advent calendar before, but this is my year. I think not only will I include fun things, but some service-oriented projects (like Christmas Cards for the Troops) for my boys to do so that they see that Christmas is about more than the gifts.

This is so adorable! A friend of mine told me about when she was a kid her mom wrapped up 24 different Christmas books and put numbers on them and every night up until christmas they would sit by the tree and read whatever number night it was and she said it is such a nice memory she has about Christmas. I loved the idea and hope to share it with my girls :)

I want to do this so bad this year. We got a cheap one with crappy chocolates from Target for Halloween to see if the idea would interest my daughter. She loved opening it everyday but hated the crappy chocolate, lol. This would be fun to put my own stuff in.

These are so cute. I do have an Advent calendar, it is fabric and very cute, with a little mouse that counts down the days. It is the one thing that has lasted for years. It was a gift to me from my mother many years ago and came from Avon, believe it or not. The kids are grown and have moved away, but I still count down to the holidays.

When we were children we used to make our advent calendar from two asheets of paper stuck together at the edges, Doors were 'cut' with a pin and duly decorated inside and out. We then sellotaped them on a door and had fu, As years went by we were given the shop bought chocolate ones. Now we have a son of our own we are encouraging handmade decoration again. Albeit he is only 4yo, he enjoys 'mucking in'. Our decorations and advent calendars are always different from anyone elses!!! :O)
