Oh, for hippo's sake...

...get it rignt, playlist! So, I have a playlist on my blog of fun, silly, and precious Christmas songs. Some of you may love them, some of you may hate them when they blare in your ear unexpectedly as soon as you land on my blog. =) On said playlist is a song called, "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" that is credited by playlist to the adorable Shirley Temple. Sounds like her voice, right? Well...

The other day my amazingly talented friend, Elizabeth Dillow, emailed me the funniest story. Apparently she had been looking for that very song on iTunes after hearing it on my blog and discovered inadvertently that the artist who recorded that song is not the adorable Shirley Temple, but instead the equally adorable but definitely less famous Gayla Peevey. Elizabeth even found a Wikipedia page about Gayla Peevey, and I found this one about the song. How funny is that? So kudos to Elizabeth for doing her research, and shame on whoever credited Shirley Temple to Ms. Peevey's song on playlist. =)

And look at that! She also did "Are my ears on straight?"

Love that song. Brings back wonderful memories of dance class as a little girl. :)
